I didn’t have enough energy in me to write a post about yesterday, so I’ll write one real quick before we head out for our last day in Citalapa.
Yesterday, we hosted a sandwich luncheon for the community, which went really well. We bought enough to make 216 sandwiches, but I swear, as the line grew and grew the whole time I was thinking, “Oh man, we’re not going to have enough…” And I just kept praying “Please, God, please God, let there me be enough…” We had 7 sandwiches left over after everyone — including the men who got in line at the very end. It was like a modern day telling of the two loaves and five fish story.
Then we had our last VBS day with Umbre de Biblico (I realized in a previous entry I had that wrong… I think I ended up saying Bible Brother haha). The skit was the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, and then Bible Man recapped the whole week of the stories we shared. And then we handed out Bible Man capes for the children and they all ran out in the field and did what we’re calling the Bible Man pose. It was cute.
Afterwards, we went to the house where the little girl who broke her leg lived and read her today’s story. As we were leaving, she called out to Nancy and gave her a big hug and smile. It was precious!
The adults played their rousing game of soccer and the whole community came out to watch.

Nate took the tops off the jelly jars and put them up to his face, so we called him Bible Boy for the rest of the day haha

the team making sandwiches!

The women’s ministry frosted their cupcakes today! We had just enough to give every woman there two cupcakes.

After the kids received their capes, they all met Bible Man and did the Bible Man pose :D

Then we read the Bible story to the girl with the broken leg.

And of course did the Bible Man pose, too :)
